Ornamental Invasion: Liz Miller at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts

Liz Miller uses industrial felt to create this installation at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. She researched MIA’s collections of weapons and armor, extracting portions from images of specific objects, and then folding them into the patterns found in this installation. I was there while this was being installed, and I enjoyed seeing it completed. This is on display until July 3rd.

The colors are great, and I love the shadows that the shapes reveal on the wall. There’s a touch of gold and white accent as well.
