Fine Arts at the Minnesota State Fair 2010

Today is the last day of the Minnesota State Fair, and following are a few of my favorite bead/textile/glass/wood items from the collection. This is extremely hard to jury into, with very stiff competition. Congratulations to all who made it! Some of my favorite things from the collection below: I love seeing the beaded art jewelry. Period. This is a new division this year. The mosaic pig is awesome. The art quilt with the circles and squares is very eye-catching; I think I want to work with those colors sometime. Karen Searle’s wire crocheted human figure with the birchbark is a great contrast in materials. And the critter with the steamer for the face had great whimsy.
