About a week ago, I went to visit the Art Shanties on a nearby Minnesota lake. Minnesota (and other cold weather places) go ice fishing. The Art Shanties Project turns the idea of ice houses for fishing into a pop-up art installation every other year. Below are some pictures that I took; click on any to see them larger and read more detail. Great fun, even in the cold!

These were my best pictures, but there were more wonderful Art Shanties – dancing, letterpress, traipsing across a bridge as a goat, resting in a hammock, using a camera obscura, more! Yay for the Art Shanties!
