I watched Joanne Bast’s blog posts while she created an amazing beaded playing card, entitled “Clubbing the Night Away.” Her description of the piece is “Prohibition birthed the nightclub when women had to go out at night for illegal alcohol. Men+women+alcohol+party atmosphere=dancing. My six of clubs depicts three eras of nightclub dancing.”
The full deck of 54 cards, created by all stripes of fiber artists from the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, is on display at Be Galleries, in Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania. The exhibit opened yesterday, and continues through May 8th. All of the images are available in this slideshow.
