Double triple spiral, step 1

You know how on the classic spiral, for each core bead, you go back three spiral beads? To get this 20mm diameter rope, each core bead equals 72 spiral beads! It reminds me a bit of a Dutch spiral with the loose spiral this bead count creates.

  1. This looks really great. I was curious about the results, when I read your articel some days ago.
Unfortunetaly I am unable to make a triple spiral rope, as I have to much thread tension. It just don’t work. But I read about an english beader who managed to make a “seven” Spiral rope. What’s the right word for this?

    Nevertheless, Dulcey, this is great.

    • I have to keep reminding myself to slack of the tension. Sabina, the person who wrote these instructions, did a seven-spiral, I think. (Maybe it was 6? I don’t know the right word…) She could be who you’re thinking of – she’s Italian. Anyway, she could only get a few inches before she ran out of hole space in the core beads, I think.
