Bumpy bead


So, is this a bumpy bead like a lot of lampwork you see? Sort of warring states-ish? Whichever, it’s a lot of fun!

It’s a combination of right angle weave and square stitch. It may be made in a similar way as Rachel Nelson-Smith’s Ootheca pieces; I don’t know, I haven’t seen her instructions. The core bead is transparent green plastic, with transparent Czech and French seed beads. Here’s an end view:

The gold craft wire is temporary, to keep the hole of the core bead lined up with its cloak of bumpy beads. I see this as a centerpiece for a necklace. It’s quite large, 25mm at its largest, but quite light.
