BFAC 2010 idea

Here’s where I’m going with my BFAC 2010 project:

My stained glass artist friend, Carol, made several pendants for me in the color scheme of the kit — I provided her with the fan of beads above, and a sample of those beads not included in the fan.  The rose montees are placed on the glass; I hope to wire or glue them in place.

At an American Craft Council show we attended together, we saw a jewelry artist whose husband made glass art, including pendants for his wife, and she made silver and leather findings that beautifully complemented his art glass.  (Sorry, I don’t remember their names.)  We commented that we could use that as inspiration.

The solder is lead-free, very important in jewelry.  I want to make several related fans, agonize on a perfect balanced asymmetrical layout, string them through their top edges, and dangle Laurie’s lampwork from the back as a beautiful counterpoint.
