Beadwork (and woodturning) in American Woodturner

The October 2012 issue of American Woodturner has an article entitled “Anna Achtziger: A Wedding of Materials and Methods.” There’s no online content available, but the article itself is a two-page spread of vessels turned and beaded by Anna Achtziger. She started beading at seven, taught by her Blackfoot grandfather. Achtziger has recently turned to woodturning to work with beads in new ways, turning the thin-walled vessel (in two pieces, of easy-to-turn poplar), and then adding the drama of beads and exotic woods for the visible wood.
